The venue, Uncharted Books, is a new bookstore funded on Kickstarter which had a Tumblr blog before it was born. It’s a dream spot for book-web-community nerds and we absolutely can’t wait to see it (and all of you.)

First post June 2010Designer and photographer Paul Octavious is passionate about creating things for himself and the internet. He taught himself how to use a digital SLR while in school for graphic design, and today does work for clients like Nike and The Wall Street Journal. For his Number Stacks project, Paul photographs books stacked by color into numbers and sometimes cheeseburgers. He enjoys making experimental videos and taking photos of blizzards. Paul credits the feedback he’s received from putting his work on the internet for all to see for much of his success. He only has two arms.

Location Houston, TXIan Andersen always liked comics, but it wasn’t until he found James Kochalka’s American Elf that he started making his own. “The idea of just doing a strip a day about my own life really blew me away,” he says. Like many other cartoonists before him, he discovered that this daily routine pushed him to improve his ability in both drawing and writing. Ian has posted a daily comic for two years now, attends college, and drinks lots of coffee.
